Massive Price Increase in Domestic TiO2 Industry

On 13th April, over 10 companies in East and South China region, such as CNNC Hua Yuan, Dongfon, announced a factory prices increase by 200-500RMB/ton for their rutile products. It  represented a second massive price increase among China domestic manufacturers following Lomon, which announced a factory price increase by 600RMB/ton for all its rutile titanium dioxide grades on 10th April.

Since March, most domestic main-stream titanium dioxide manufacturers have increased factory price of rutile titanium dioxide. And this is the second time for CNNC Hua Yuan and Dongfon to increase prices, and cumulative increase reaches 500-1000RMB/ton with rate at 3%-7%. In international market, Dupont announced on 18th March that they will increase price on 15th April 2015.

According to an analysis, during recent peak season of TiO2 industry, huge domestic demand but low stock creates tight market and active purchase. Meanwhile, the accumulative total volume reaches 90200ton in January to February, showing a increase of 16.7% compared with the same period last year, according to the statistics from General Customs Administration.
